Qualifications

  • 10 years of progressively responsible experience in communications or related fields with leadership responsibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, music, arts administration, or related field; advanced degree a plus
  • Deep knowledge of classical music and the orchestral field or ability to acquire quickly
  • Experience developing and executing integrated communications strategies (media relations, digital, storytelling)
  • Fluency in digital trends, social platforms, video/audio storytelling, analytics-driven decisions
  • Proven ability to advise executives and artistic leaders with sound judgment and discretion
  • Strong writing, editing, digital acumen, and storytelling across formats

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive, multi-year communications strategy for the Orchestra across local, national, and international audiences
  • Lead digital storytelling and platform-native content to grow audience engagement
  • Oversee media relations and act as spokesperson for leaders and concerts, education programs, and tours
  • Manage internal content creators and align content with marketing and editorial calendars
  • Track digital performance metrics and communicate impact to leadership and Board
