Job summary

AssetMark is seeking a Vice President of Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering to drive the strategy, architecture, and operations of our cloud and infrastructure platforms. The role requires executive presence, broad technical depth, and the ability to lead through incidents and large-scale initiatives, with a hybrid schedule near our Charlotte, NC office.

Qualifications

• Typically 15+ years of progressive experience across cloud, infrastructure, engineering, operations, or technology platforms.
• Significant experience leading global technical teams, developing managers and engineers, and directing delivery through a strategic roadmap.
• Azure: demonstrated ownership of enterprise Azure environments, cloud transformation initiatives, platform engineering, cloud governance, and production operations.
• Terraform and Infrastructure as Code: deep experience with Terraform and IaC at enterprise scale, including modules, state management, CI/CD integration, testing, policy enforcement, drift detection, and operational governance.
• DevOps and Platform Engineering: broad experience across DevOps, CI/CD, platform engineering, automation, developer enablement, observability, and production operations.
• Networking: strong technical understanding of enterprise networking, including firewalls, SD-WAN, wireless, WAN, load balancers, F5, DNS, VPN, and Azure networking.
• Databases and Data Platforms: experience leading database and data platform operations involving SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or comparable technologies.
• AI Enablement: experience enabling AI, machine learning, analytics, or advanced data workloads in Azure or another major cloud platform, with an understanding of the related compute, data, security, and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a multi-year Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering strategy with target-state architecture and a prioritized roadmap.
• Lead and develop a high-performing organization of technical leaders, cloud engineers, DevOps engineers, database professionals, network engineers, architects, and platform specialists.
• Own the design, operation, and continuous improvement of the Azure environment, including landing zones, subscriptions, management groups, and resource organization.
• Define standards for Azure networking, private endpoints, VPN, ExpressRoute, Firewall, DNS, and related services to ensure secure, scalable platforms.
• Lead evolution of DevOps and platform engineering capabilities, including CI/CD, self-service platforms, and platform APIs.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code adoption with Terraform governance, modules, remote state, testing, and policy enforcement.
