Job summary

The City of Concord seeks a City Prosecutor to supervise the City Prosecutor's Office, including 4 Assistant City Prosecutors and support staff, handling prosecutions for Concord Police and coordinating with the Merrimack County Attorney's Office.

The candidate will provide legal advice to the police, ensure compliance with discovery and NH Victim's Bill of Rights, and stay current on criminal law changes. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate required.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience as an attorney.
• Must be a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze criminal cases to determine whether charges should be filed and the grade of offense.
• Tries criminal cases, both bench and jury trials.
• Supervise Assistant Prosecutors and clerical staff; provide case disposition guidance.
• Coordinate trial dockets with the Clerk of Court and related police departments.
• Advise police officers and investigators on criminal law and procedures; train staff as needed.
• Draft and review city ordinances and legal documents.
