Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-recognized law school.
  • Active membership in the New Hampshire Bar Association in good standing.

Responsibilities

  • Renders official opinions on statutes and agency rules regarding viability of potential disciplinary actions in occupational licensing cases before the Boards, Councils, and Commissions within the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification (OPLC).
  • Supervise the evaluation of initial complaints by legal staff and determine whether the licensing boards have proper jurisdiction.
  • Conducts legal research and drafts motions, memoranda, and pleadings for filing in administrative disciplinary proceedings at OPLC; consults with experts to determine standards of care.
  • Negotiates settlements to resolve pending disciplinary matters before hearing.
  • Oversee investigations by legal staff of formal complaints filed with the boards; interview complainants, respondents, and witnesses.
  • Prepares cases for administrative law hearings, prosecutes disciplinary matters with evidence and witness testimony.
  • Monitors disciplinary trends and regulatory proposals; advises on potential legislation or licensure changes.
  • Respond to inquiries from the public and officials regarding disciplinary actions in occupational licensing matters.

Education

Juris Doctorate
Active New Hampshire Bar Association member
