Responsibilities

Ascension Saint Agnes is looking for a Chief CRNAfor our Anesthesiology Department! The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience as a CRNA and will demonstrate current competency in the management and clinical responsibilites specified.

Position Highlights :

  • Preceptorship opportunities with SRNAs from three local programs

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the management of nurse anesthesia services in collaboration with departments of anesthesia, surgery and nursing administration
  • Develops and interprets organizational policies for budgets and personnel
  • Assumes responsibility for safe and proper operation and quality control of equipment, techniques, and procedures
  • Analyzes and evaluates to assure established quality patient care.
  • Performs and documents a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient.
  • Develops and implements an anesthetic plan of care, including monitoring modalities and post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care.
  • Selects, obtains and administers the anesthetic plan of care, including induction, maintenance and emergence phase anesthesia.
  • Recognizes alterations in physiologic responses to the surgical procedure and / or the anesthetic, takes appropriate action and notifies the responsible physician as indicated.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration :

Required Credential(s) :

BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Nurse Anesthetist credentialed from the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Registered Nurse credentialed from the Maryland Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Preferred Credential(s) :

Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA). Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Education :

Master's or Doctorate of Nursing Anesthesia Practice or Nursing Practice required.
