Our client drives transformation and innovation in content solutions for societies and publishers across multiple markets, including STM, scholarly communications, and educational content development.

They now require a strategic and results-driven Chief Business Development Officer to lead a global sales team and drive revenue growth. This executive role will be instrumental in expanding the company’s market presence worldwide while maintaining our leadership position in the publishing industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Execute Sales Strategy – Lead global sales efforts to achieve revenue targets and business objectives.
  • Inspire and Lead Sales Teams – Motivate and manage sales teams, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination – Align sales efforts with leadership, and business segments across alldivisions.
  • Market Expansion & Partnerships – Identify and pursue new market opportunities, partnerships, and customer segments.
  • Sales Process & Performance Optimization – Establish a consistent sales process, monitor key metrics, and drive improvements.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management – Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Sales Compensation & Training – Develop structured sales compensation programs and implement training initiatives.
  • Pipeline & Forecasting Management – Oversee sales pipelines, forecasting, and reporting to ensure effective sales operations.
  • Contract & Budget Oversight – Manage contract renewals, compliance, and global sales budgets for efficient resource allocation.
  • Industry Representation & Market Insights – Stay ahead of industry trends and represent the company at key global events.

Skill & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred) or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated success in senior sales roles within the global STM/academic or learning content industry.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire global sales teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making abilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with digital marketing tools and CRM software.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with diverse cultural environments and international market dynamics.
