Position Overview: Lincoln Investment is seeking a Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) to lead the following key areas in the organization: Recruiting, Advisor Retention, Employer Retirement Services (403(b) and 457), Investment and Product Management, Financial Planning, Marketing, Succession, and Employee Advisor growth. This position will report directly to the President and be a member of the Executive Management Team. The CBDO is responsible for achieving revenue growth and will collaborate with all staff and team members to research opportunities across relevant technical areas, and execute on strategic plans to compete in the marketplace. The CBDO will play an active role in the development of our strategy and work closely with the advisor population on continued branch growth within both the Wealth and Workplace practices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drive aggressive revenue growth for Lincoln Investment
  • Create and execute on a defined recruiting strategy
  • Bring accountability and predictability to our revenue engine
  • Work closely with Product & Marketing to ensure the product shelf and marketing campaigns are focused on the proper channels, advisors, and customers using the most impactful messaging
  • Develop a thriving advisor base including implementing effective advisor retention strategies
  • Work closely with leadership across the organization to ensure priorities are aligned towards driving the best growth outcomes in the mid and long-term
  • Build a high-performance team across key geographies, directing resources to where they can generate the highest impact for the company
  • Oversee Partner/Relationship Management & Practice Management functions
  • Create strategies to implement predictable, repeatable, and scalable sales processes using data analytics, and manage a consistent pipeline and forecasting methodology
  • Partner with product, finance, technology and business development teams to assist in the development of the Company's go-to-market strategy for the Sales Organization
  • Continuously develop and refine value propositions and differentiated positioning
  • Determine if there are additional market opportunities outside of existing channels
  • Strategically tie all of Company's offerings to a comprehensive solution and message
  • Provide leadership and development as a servant leader celebrating the success of your team including providing new opportunities for career growth, continued education and personal development

Required Qualifications:

  • 20+ years of successful revenue/sales leadership with experience scaling and managing all aspects of the P&L
  • 10+ years in the employer retirement space – more specifically individual 403(b) and 457(b) focus a must
  • Strong, consistent track record of revenue and profitability growth
  • Experience in wealth management and leading an independent financial advisor base industry a must
  • Experience building up and managing sales teams with a proven track record of leading multi-channel sales organizations
  • Extensive leadership experience in strategy, business development, and marketing functions
  • Retail Broker/Dealer and/or RIA experience a plus
  • Strong collaborator that works well across functions within the organization
