About The Role


As a CBRE Chief Building Engineer Supervisor, you will supervise the team responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading ongoing maintenance and repair operations for a facility, a campus, or a portfolio of buildings. Plan, implement, coordinate and handle all mechanical operations, maintenance, communications, energy management, and workforce development programs.

What You'll Do


  • Lead the building's operational accounts and assists in development of operating and capital budgets.
  • Impact the achievement of customer, operational, project, or service objectives across multi-discipline teams. Work is guided by functional policies which impact the design of procedures and policies.
  • Contribute to new products, processes, standards, and/or operational plans in support of achieving functional goals! Communicate difficult and complex ideas with the ability to influence.
  • Assist in operations and maintenance issues, fixing and problem solving as required.
  • Establish and maintain budgets for facilities maintenance.
  • Recommend and implement improvements for preventive maintenance programs on an ongoing basis and develop/maintain effective building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals.
  • Coordinates maintenance efforts with outside contractors, tenant finish personnel and technicians. Supervise all building systems including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC and electrical issues and must remain current with the latest HVAC technology trends.
  • Respond to all emergency situations quickly (fire, evacuation, equipment failure etc.) and customer concerns.
  • Establish and monitor programs to ensure compliance with applicable codes, requisitions, government agency and company directives as relates to building operations.
  • Tracks the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching opportunities. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Coordinate and lead the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience, GED, or trade school diploma with 5-8 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Previous experience in a leadership role preferred.
  • Universal CFC certification required. Additional certification in three or more of the following: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
  • Requires sophisticated knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.
