Placements24 is seeking a Lead Remote Electrical Systems Architect to design and strategize complex electrical systems from a remote environment. Based conceptually in Randburg, Gauteng, this senior role offers global remote work with a distributed engineering team and high autonomy.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in electrical engineering, with 5+ years in system architecture, and strong leadership and communication skills to influence decisions across software, hardware, and product teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in electrical engineering with 5+ years in architecture or lead design roles.
• Experience designing complex electrical systems for relevant industries.
• Strong understanding of modularity, scalability, and fault tolerance.

Responsibilities

• Define and architect the overall electrical system strategy.
• Lead and mentor a team of remote electrical engineers.
• Develop high-level system designs, criteria, and interface specs.
• Oversee creation of detailed design documents, schematics, and specs.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, performance, and security of electrical systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems.
• Establish and enforce electrical design standards and review processes.
• Identify emerging technologies and advocate adoption.
• Troubleshoot complex system-level issues and guide mitigation.
