Job summary

Red 6 Aerospace, Inc is seeking a Chief Engineer to own the end-to-end system architecture of an airborne AR system and guide the technical roadmap. You will coordinate hardware, software, optics, and flight-test activities, making hard trade decisions and translating customer requirements into actionable specifications.

You will lead cross-functional teams, engage with government customers, and shape the technical future of the company while operating at startup speed with defense-grade rigor.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in system engineering, hardware design, and technical leadership roles in defense/aerospace or related industries.
• Proven expertise in system architecture design, with emphasis on hardware/software systems integration.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive complex technical decisions.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own the system architecture and drive end-to-end airborne AR system design.
• Run trade studies, weigh options, and make critical design calls on complex issues.
• Translate customer requirements into system/subsystem specifications and validate against mission needs.
• Manage customer relationships with government clients and align with their needs.
• Build and guide the internal technical roadmap to keep Red 6 at the industry forefront.
• Lead cross-functional teams across hardware, software, optics, systems, and flight test.
