Artefact, a data and AI consulting firm, seeks a senior leader to guide production AI solutions in NYC. You will head a team of AI/ML engineers, shaping architecture from classical ML to LLM-powered systems and agentic workflows, while partnering with clients and stakeholders.

You will define context engineering, harness design, and fine-tuning pipelines, and contribute to GenAI strategy. Strong cloud-native skills and 8+ years of software/AI experience are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with AI.
• 2–3 years in LLM architecture and agentic design.
• Strong cloud-native architecture experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of production AI solutions.
• Define context engineering practices including prompt design.
• Oversee the build of robust agent harnesses and observability.
• Manage and grow AI/ML engineers and set technical standards.
• Support pre-sales with demos and solution scoping with clients.
• Contribute to GenAI strategy and platform roadmap.
