Job summary

Texas Education Agency seeks an Executive Director of Artificial Intelligence and Risk to lead enterprise AI strategy and governance. You will drive priority AI initiatives, establish risk management, and oversee pilots through production deployments, aligning with policy and security standards across the agency.

We value experience in executive leadership, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and collaboration with legislative stakeholders to ensure responsible AI adoption within state education

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
• Eight years of executive leadership in enterprise cloud and AI initiatives; strong governance experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise AI strategy, prioritization, and governance aligned with agency priorities.
• Oversee AI pilot-to-production programs and integration with existing systems.
• Establish AI risk management, monitoring, and governance guardrails.
• Drive workforce enablement, stakeholder engagement, and policy alignment.
• Supervise staff and manage performance to deliver AI value.
