Job summary

Mondrian Alpha seeks a senior AI leader to define and drive the firm’s AI strategy across research, investments, and operations. You will build and scale the AI function, shaping its scope and priorities in partnership with senior leadership to maximize impact.

This is a high-visibility role requiring strategic vision and the ability to operate in a broad mandate, with latitude to define the blueprint for AI across the business.

Qualifications

• Significant senior-level experience leading AI or ML efforts, ideally with some exposure to financial markets.
• Track record of building and scaling a team.
• Comfortable operating with a broad, not fully defined mandate.
• Experience at hedge funds or financial institutions (Nice-to-have).
• Public track record signals depth in the field (Nice-to-have).

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the firm's AI strategy across research, investment, and operational functions.
• Build and manage a team as the function scales.
• Partner directly with senior leadership and investment teams to identify where AI can move the needle.
• Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions on tooling, infrastructure, and talent.
• Represent the AI function to the firm's leadership and, where relevant, to external partners.
