Job summary

The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation in Miami, FL is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer to drive an integrated fundraising, marketing, and donor-engagement agenda. This executive reports to the CEO and shapes multi-year strategies to grow philanthropic revenue while advancing the mission toward a biological cure for diabetes.

You will build high-performing teams, forge major partnerships, and translate scientific progress into compelling donor narratives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFRE preferred.
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit advancement.
Proven success leading comprehensive fundraising programs across multiple revenue streams.
Experience securing and closing transformational and principal gifts.
Experience overseeing integrated marketing and communications functions.
Ability to build fundraising infrastructure, systems, and high-performing teams.
Experience working with executive leadership, boards, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

Lead an integrated advancement strategy across fundraising, marketing, communications, and donor engagement.
Develop and execute diversified fundraising plans to increase revenue and sustainability.
Cultivate and steward high-capacity donors and strategic partners.
Oversee forecasting, goals, and performance measurement across channels.
Build a high-performing Advancement team and collaborate with the CEO and Board.
