The Chief Administrative Officer and Associate Director of Research Administration (CAO/AD) at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University is a key member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the Executive Director. This role involves strategic planning, management, and oversight of all research-related activities, including shared resources, clinical research, and cancer research development.
The CAO/AD plays an integral role in developing, implementing, and evaluating the Institute's research efforts, crucial for maintaining Winship's NCI designation. Responsibilities include aligning efforts with marketing, communications, and development to support clinical and research initiatives, and collaborating with senior leaders across Emory University and Healthcare.
The position also involves representing Winship on various institutional committees, managing the NCI Cancer Center Support Grant, overseeing research components like the Cancer Clinical Trials Office, and providing strategic oversight for finances, human resources, facilities, and communications. The CAO/AD partners with data and informatics leaders to ensure robust research infrastructure and collaborates with university units to align priorities.
