Job summary

Berkley Mid-Atlantic Group (BMAG) is seeking a Chief Actuarial Officer to lead actuarial, analytics, and portfolio intelligence across pricing, reserving, capital, and growth decisions. Reporting to the President, you will translate complex risk into actionable choices and build an integrated decision-support model for enterprise performance.

Qualifications

• FCAS credential required or equivalent actuarial credential.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• Extensive progression in property & casualty actuarial work with leadership.
• Ability to communicate complex analysis to executives and non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of actuarial standards, regulation, rate filing, and model governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead actuarial, analytics, and portfolio intelligence agenda to improve risk-adjusted returns.
• Own reserving process, forecasting, and capital/portfolio management.
• Develop enterprise decision-support and governance with data-driven insights.
• Guide pricing, product economics, and reinsurance strategies across lines.
• Partner with finance, underwriting, and distribution for strategic growth.
