Job summary

The University of Colorado Anschutz is seeking a Vice Provost of Academic Strategy and Effectiveness to lead the Provost’s office, shaping institutional priorities, academic strategy, and cross‑campus initiatives in support of excellence and operational impact.

The role requires strong data‑driven judgement, talent development, and collaboration with faculty and external partners to advance faculty success and student-centered policies across the health sciences campus.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or terminal degree from an accredited institution or equivalent senior executive experience in a related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible senior administrative and executive leadership in a research-intensive university or academic health center.
• Experience leading policy development, cross-unit collaboration, and measurable improvements in academic or administrative performance.
• Experience working with faculty governance bodies, senior leadership, and external stakeholders to advance campus initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop vision for the office and translate priorities into multi-year plans with measurable outcomes.
• Lead cross-departmental projects with clear goals, deliverables, and accountability structures.
• Prepare briefing materials, strategy documents, and executive summaries for leadership bodies.
• Establish project management and tracking systems for academic and operational initiatives.
• Provide leadership to administrative units and foster collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
• Convene cross-functional teams to address multidisciplinary challenges and reduce silos.
• Design and facilitate leadership development and mentoring for faculty and emerging leaders.
• Translate complex data into actionable insights and dashboards for executive decision-making.
