CMSD seeks a Chief Academic Officer to champion the district’s instructional vision and drive academic excellence for every scholar in every school. The CAO will join CEO Warren Morgan’s cabinet to build a centralized academic strategy anchored in high-quality curricula and a unified assessment system.

The next CAO will provide leadership across Teaching & Learning, Student Services, and Schools, aligning functions to support high-quality instruction and equitable opportunities for all CMSD

Qualifications

• Demonstrated track record of improving student outcomes through data-driven decision making in urban public education.
• Commitment to equity and inclusion in all instructional decisions.
• Experience leading large, diverse teams and managing complex programs.

Responsabilités

• Lead Building Brighter Futures implementation to expand access to advanced coursework.
• Ensure coherence across curriculum, instruction, and student services.
• Oversee budgets, staffing, and resources for the Academics Division.
• Foster collaboration across divisions and partners to support district goals.
• Represent the CEO on academic matters and drive alignment with district priorities.
