Job summary

Harford Community College in Bel Air, Maryland seeks a collaborative, student-centered executive to serve as Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA). As Chief Academic Officer, you will lead academic programs, support faculty, and align offerings with transfer and workforce needs, driving student success and completion.

The position requires a Doctorate and at least seven years in higher education, with a focus on teaching, learning, and program development.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in teaching, learning, and academic program development
• Expand educational access and drive academic excellence
• Develop strategies to enhance quality and relevance of programs
• Foster innovation and continuous improvement in teaching and learning
• Ensure alignment of programs with transfer and workforce missions
• Collaborate with IE to establish KPIs and use data for decisions
• Support accreditation efforts and compliance with standards
• Oversee CETL, Library and eLearning
• Cultivate partnerships with industry to meet local needs
• Develop articulation agreements for seamless transfers

Education

Doctorate in academic discipline including but not limited to Higher Education Administration, Community College Leadership, or a Law Degree
