Job summary

California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) seeks an experienced Academic Advisor II for the CHHS Advising Center. You will advise undergraduates on general education, majors, and graduation requirements, contributing to student success and timely degree completion.

Work with SOAR workshops, registration systems, and a high-traffic office environment. Candidates should have advising experience and familiarity with CSULB policies and advising tools.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or related field; two years of professional student services experience.
• Master's degree is preferred; demonstrated advising experience is valued.
• Experience with university advising systems and general education knowledge is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive advising to CHHS undergraduates on GE, majors, graduation requirements.
• Support Student Success and Degree Initiative goals and improve retention and graduation rates.
• Assist freshmen and transfer students during SOAR to create balanced schedules and successful registrations.
