Job summary

California State University, Long Beach invites applications for the Director of Student Success and Advising. This leadership role oversees the College of Education advising team, planning and evaluating comprehensive access and retention services for prospective and current students.

The incumbent will promote practices to identify student needs, align campus resources, and foster a culture of care while guiding staff and collaborating with campus units to maximize student success.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in higher education, student development, student affairs, counseling or a related field.
• At least 5 years of related management or advising experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and intercultural communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive, holistic, and culturally responsive student advising and support services to enhance the academic, personal, and career success of current and prospective students.
• Oversee effective management of all activities and program operations in the college Student Success and Advising Center, including personnel, daily operations, advising services, administrative functions, retention, timely program completion, and collaborations with the Career Development Center and Financial Aid.
• Organize, attend, or chair a variety of administrative and staff meetings as required; serve on internal and external committees and special projects; active in developing successful partnerships to support academic programs.
