Job summary

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or related field with two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Demonstrated academic advising experience in a college setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic advising to CHHS undergraduate students regarding CSULB rules, General Education, and pre-major/major/minor/certificate requirements to support student success and timely graduation.
• Assist in helping the college meet its Student Success and Highly Valued Degree Initiative goals and work to improve college retention and graduation rates through high-quality, holistic advising.
• Provide advising to new freshmen and transfer students during SOAR workshops by creating appropriate schedules and guiding course selections.
