Job summary

Cal Poly Humboldt seeks a Student Services Professional II, Academic Advisor to provide holistic academic advising for designated majors, with emphasis on first‑generation and underrepresented students. You will build academic plans, support retention, and coordinate campus programs to foster student success.

Under supervision of the Director of Undergraduate Advising, you’ll mentor students, assist with orientation, workshops, and collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure timely degree

Qualifications

• Two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or related field.
• Master’s degree in a job-related field may substitute for one year of the professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Academic Advising for students in assigned majors (75%).
• General undergraduate advising, referral and programming (10%).
• Academic Department/Campus Activities (10%).
• Other duties as assigned (5%).

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Master’s degree may substitute for one year experience
