California State University Long Beach seeks a Beach Central Counselor for Graduation, Policy and Appeals. The role counsels students on Academic Appeals, Timely Graduation, and related policies, reviews records, and delivers workshops on university procedures.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a related field and two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact in Beach Central for all issues related to student records such as Academic Appeals, Timely Graduation, Graduation status, and other records-related topics. Meet with individuals to address and explain relevant University policies and procedures to students, faculty, staff and administrators.
• Provide assessment of appeals in relationship to graduation and student success.
• Evaluate and update student records and appeal documentation pertaining to Timely Graduation, Academic Appeals, Academic Progress, Academic Standing and Declaration/Change of Major processing, among other student-related topics.
