Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking a part-time Chemistry tutor for the South Bend campus. You will meet with students in individual, shared, and group formats to reinforce concepts from lectures, readings, and assignments.

You will guide study skills and connect students to appropriate academic resources, while handling required paperwork in TracCloud. The role emphasizes strong oral communication, a commitment to diversity, and professional conduct, with duties aligned to FERPA and college

Qualifications

Relevant academic, tutoring, or teaching experience.
Current Ivy Tech students must have completed at least one semester and a GPA of 3.0 or better in the subject area tutored.
Strong oral communication skills and ability to work with diverse student populations.
No campus disciplinary record.

Responsibilities

Meet with students in individual, shared, and group tutoring formats to enhance concepts from Chemistry lectures and materials.
Provide guidance in study skills appropriate for Chemistry courses.
Refer students to college resources and support services as needed.
Complete paperwork and recordkeeping in the college system (TracCloud).
Participate in trainings and keep up-to-date with course content changes.
Coordinate with Chemistry faculty to align tutoring with learning objectives.
Demonstrate professionalism and respect for diversity; maintain confidentiality.
