Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College – South Bend campus is seeking a part-time Chemistry Tutor. Tutoring will be conducted face-to-face or virtually, focusing on helping students understand Chemistry concepts, stay current with course changes, and support learning.

The position is at the South Bend campus with flexible delivery modes. Ideal candidates will have tutoring or teaching experience, be current or former Ivy Tech students with at least one semester completed and a GPA of 3.0 or better in the

Qualifications

Relevant academic, tutoring, or teaching experience.
Current Ivy Tech student must have completed at least one semester and a GPA of 3.0 or better in the subject area they will tutor.
Strong oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

Meet with students in individual, shared, and group tutoring formats to clarify concepts in Chemistry course lectures and materials.
Guide students in study skills methods applicable to Chemistry courses.
Refer students to appropriate academic support services as needed.
Complete all paperwork and recordkeeping in the designated college system (TracCloud).
Participate in initial and ongoing training programs.
Consult with Chemistry faculty to align with course objectives and changes in curriculum.
Maintain confidentiality of tutoring sessions.
Demonstrate professionalism and strong customer service.
