Job summary

MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES in Visalia, CA is seeking a Chemistry Technician to perform chemical analyses on food, pharmaceutical or other samples. The incumbent will grind and prepare samples, run analyses (protein, moisture, fat, ash and other constituents), prepare standards, and track results in the LIMS system.

The role requires an associate degree with 1+ years’ experience or a bachelor’s degree, basic chemistry knowledge, and ability to handle wet and instrumental methods.

Qualifications

• The incumbent must have a basic knowledge of chemistry to accurately perform testing procedures and obtain accurate results.
• Analytical skills are essential to complete analysis procedures and determine the concentration of the microorganism.
• A general knowledge of the Laboratory Information Management System is required to process client data.
• Physical dexterity is required for manipulating samples.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical analyses of samples including protein, moisture, fat, ash, and other components.
• Prepare samples for analysis and retrieve samples from designated areas.
• Write/label samples throughout the process for tracking with client/sample numbers.
• Perform calculations, data transfer, and interpretation of results.
