Job summary

VCU Health in Richmond, VA, is seeking a Medical Technologist/MLS/CLS to perform high-complexity testing and ensure accurate results for patient care. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree inClinical Laboratory Science or Biological Science with NAACLS/ASCP certification.
• Certification within 6 months of graduation required.
• Experience with high complexity testing and various lab disciplines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests according to established procedures.
• Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and validates lab equipment.
• Performs quality control and adheres to QA guidelines.
• Educates and trains laboratory personnel, students, and residents.
• May perform specimen collection and phlebotomy as needed.
• Ensures CAP/JCAHO accreditation standards are maintained.
