Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 4+ years related experience; degrees may substitute per policy.
• Preferred B.Sc. or higher in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
• Experience handling and preparing chemicals and reagents safely.
• Familiarity with inventory and purchasing systems.
• Experience working with students or customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, dispense, and label solutions, reagents, and glassware for chemistry labs.
• Maintain chemical storage inventories and monitor stock levels.
• Order chemicals, supplies, and equipment; process invoices and track deliveries.
• Ensure proper lab organization, waste handling, and safety compliance.
• Assist in safety audits and compliance with OSHA/EPA standards.
• Set up and maintain labs for 100- and 200-level courses, including demonstrations.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.
• Support faculty and students in using instruments and safe practices.
