Job summary

The City University of New York's College Laboratory Technician role supports coursework in the radiologic technology program by performing highly skilled lab functions and guiding students in their experiments. Qualifications

  • High School Diploma with at least four years of related experience.
  • An Associate degree may substitute for two years of experience, and a Bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of experience.
  • ARRT certification and NYSDOH license required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate lab preparation and supervise students one-on-one.
  • Assist in lab administration and guide equipment use and data analysis.
  • Troubleshoot equipment during lab sections.
  • Supervise open labs with x-ray and audiovisual equipment.
  • Oversee equipment specifications, purchasing, and acceptance testing.
  • Test equipment for QA to meet NYC Health Code Article 175.
  • Work with field service engineers to diagnose and repair x-ray systems.
  • Order lab supplies and maintain inventory.
  • Prepare purchase specifications and maintain records.
  • Assist students in experiment setup and hands-on training.
  • Essential duties require on-campus presence.
