Job summary
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio seeks an Instructional Aid Associate Specialist to support General Chemistry teaching laboratories. Responsibilities include preparing reagents, equipment, and spaces for experiments, and independently overseeing the day-to-day operation of the General Chemistry Lab Support Window.
The role collaborates with Lab Supervisors, Teaching Assistants, and student employees to ensure safe, effective lab operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biochemistry or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting teaching labs and coordinating lab operations is preferred.
- Ability to train and direct student employees and work with faculty and staff.
Responsibilities
- Support General Chemistry teaching laboratories and prep lab operations.
- Prepare reagents, equipment, instruments, and spaces for scheduled experiments.
- Oversee day-to-day operation of the General Chemistry Lab Support Window.
- Train and supervise student employees and teaching assistants.
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation; manage waste.
- Coordinate equipment and facility maintenance and repairs and assist in developing new experiments.
