Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH is seeking a hands-on Lab Support Assistant to help staff the Surgical Skills Lab. You will manage equipment and supply inventories, coordinate deliveries and returns for education events, and assist faculty and learners with basic A/V and setup needs.

Responsibilities include preparing cadaver specimens, assisting with event cleanup, and communicating policies.

Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant experience.
• High School diploma or GED; certification or vocational training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains up-to-date inventory of equipment and supplies and coordinates deliveries/returns for education events.
• Cleans or assists in the cleaning of technical equipment through established protocols and/or instrumentation Instructions For Use.
• Orders and receives specimens, supplies, and equipment for all events.
• Maintains a presence at events, assisting faculty and learners with equipment, supply and basic A/V needs.
• Communicates Surgical Skills Lab and specimen prover policies to faculty and learners.
• Prepares cadaver specimens for teaching purposes.
• Responsible for clean-up after events according to established procedures. Coordinates additional/special request cleaning of spaces with the housekeeping manager.
• Some administrative duties as assigned.
• Work hours vary to include some early morning, evening, and Saturday events.
