Job summary

Ohio State University is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist for the Special Functions Laboratory. The role involves performing routine and specialized testing with technical expertise, processing specimens, maintaining equipment, and serving as a lab customer service representative.

Responsibilities include taking primary charge of assigned testing areas and ensuring accurate results. The position is in a hospital setting with a standard 40-hour week and second shift coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• ASCP certification required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized testing of moderate and high complexity.
• Demonstrate technical expertise relevant to the Special Functions area.
• Process specimens and perform clerical duties as needed.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Act as a customer service representative for the laboratory, handling inquiries by phone and in person.
• Take primary responsibility for assigned testing areas within the lab.

Education
