Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Laboratory Leader to oversee Point of Care testing across hospital and off-site locations, providing technical oversight and staff development. The role coordinates with Nursing and other diagnostics to maintain quality and regulatory standards.

The position requires MT/MLS certification with 3 years of lab experience, strong communication, and proficiency with LIS and statistics.

Qualifications

• MT or MLS certification required
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Sciences or related field
• ASCP BOC or equivalent certification
• Typically requires 3 years of experience as a working laboratory professional

Responsibilities

• Oversees Point of Care testing within hospital and affiliated locations.
• Provides technical oversight for POC testing and instrumentation.
• Liaises between Laboratory, Nursing and other Diagnostic areas.
• Maintains quality assurance programs and staff competency.
• Coordinates and monitors the Laboratory’s Quality program.
• Reviews quality data and participates in quality meetings as needed.
