Sonneborn, an HF Sinclair company, invites applications for a Chemist Intern to assist in the Manufacturing Technology Department with routine chemistry and lab tasks under supervision. You will gain hands-on experience, perform tests, and help ensure records and safety procedures are followed.

Prospective candidates should be pursuing a chemistry-related degree with coursework in chemistry concepts, data analysis, and lab practices; proficiency with MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Some completed coursework toward a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field.
• Basic knowledge of chemistry concepts.
• Ability to apply knowledge analytically.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with statistical analysis of data.

Responsibilities

• Collect, prepare, and test samples of raw materials, intermediates and finished products using established methods.
• Perform routine laboratory testing and document results.
• Review laboratory records and verify testing documentation.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Support other departments with sampling, testing and compliance monitoring.
• Prepare and ship samples designated as hazardous materials per procedures.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and follow safety, quality and operating procedures.
