The Chemical Buyer I position is primarily responsible for working with external suppliers and internal staff to provide extraordinary service to our customers, balancing price, lead time, logistics, and on-time delivery of products. This individual is expected to gain procurement experience, sound business acumen, customer care, and communication skills.

About You

This role involves direct contact with customers, suppliers, and internal departments, providing excellent customer service, resolving issues, and improving satisfaction.

  • Learn and develop skills in procurement, including creating purchase orders and processing related paperwork.
  • Communicate with suppliers for quotes, availability, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Support procurement efforts, delivery, and quality issues.
  • Act as a point of contact for resolving procurement discrepancies and customer issues.
  • Manage procurement records and ensure supplier compliance with contract requirements.
  • Maintain a positive company image through high standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Respond promptly to requests and coordinate with other departments to meet customer needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of industry experience; CPSM credential or related degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn technical specifications and operate related systems.
  • Ability to travel as required.
