Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a Chemical Production Associate to follow written procedures for shell and electrode plating under close supervision. You will prepare parts, load baskets, and immerse them in chemical baths, while maintaining safe operation of cleaning and drying steps.

Daily duties include basic measurements, equipment checks, and safety compliance. The role requires reading gauges, basic math and computer skills, with high school or equivalent education.

  • Process products through cleaning and rinsing tanks and the dryer.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment per safety guidelines.
  • Assist the Department Supervisor with assigned tasks.

Job description

As a Chemical Production Associate, you must have the general competence to follow simple written procedures for shell and electrode plating. You will work under close supervision with simple oral and written instructions to do pre-plate and post-plate clean-up. Work involves placing a proper number of parts in baskets or on racks and following a sequence of steps for immersing the product in chemical baths. Other work functions include processing products through the cleaning and rinsing tanks as well as the dryer.

You will be required to exercise extreme care during daily functions to avoid damage to shells or electrodes. You will be required to perform other tasks and duties as may be assigned by the Department Supervisor.

Tasks
  • Material Handling of (incoming) bulk chemicals in 55-gallon drums or other similar containers.
  • Hazardous waste handling.
  • Tank Additions: Following written instructions from the department supervisor (or others) to make required chemical additions to process solutions.
  • Tank Maintenance: Following written instructions from the department supervisor (or others) to dump and make up new process solutions.
  • General housekeeping in the department.
Safety

You must maintain a clean, uncluttered and safe work environment by observing and practicing high standards of health and safety. This includes wearing appropriate attire, such as protective safety glasses, appropriate closed-toed shoes and any other safety required gear where applicable.

Compensation

Employee Type: Hourly

Currency: USD

Salary Minimum: 35,000
