Job summary

Element Solutions' MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions division is seeking a production operator to manufacture chemical batches in compliance with SOPs and environmental regulations in Fremont, CA.

This role requires night shift, batch processing, handling hazardous materials, and collaboration with lab personnel. We offer competitive benefits, 401(k) matching, and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of chemical manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to work 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM and in a clean-room environment preferred.
  • Experience with batch processes and handling hazardous materials.
  • Forklift certification and Hazardous Waste Operations certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production equipment to manufacture chemical batches per SOPs.
  • Run reactors, tanks, pumps, mixers, meters, valves and hoses.
  • Weigh, measure, and verify raw materials and finished products.
  • Package, label, and box products per SOPs.
  • Collect samples and liaise with labs for analysis.
  • Maintain batch tickets, logs, and calibration records.
  • Attend HSE trainings and follow waste management practices.
  • Train other operators and support continuous improvement.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001/14001 and maintain 5S in area.
  • Communicate safety/production issues and participate in shift meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Who are we looking for?

A person in this position is responsible for operating production equipment to manufacture chemical batches in compliance with company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and all local state and federal regulations regarding safety, health, and the environment.

What will you be doing?
  • Work from written procedures to process, purify, and chemically fabricate products and their compounds through a sequence of batch operations.
  • Operate equipment, including reactors, tanks, pumps, mixers, pH meters, level meters, flow meters, valves, and hoses used in the manufacture of said products.
  • Handle liquid and solid chemicals using pumps, scales and flow meters. Weigh, measure and check raw materials and finished product to ensure that batches manufactured contain proper ingredients and quantities and that accurate inventory is maintained.
  • Perform product weighing, packaging, labeling, and boxing operations in accordance with SOP's.
  • Collect process samples and interface with laboratory personnel for analysis.
  • Maintain required log sheets including but not limited to batch tickets, packaging sheets, scrubber operation log, pH meter calibration, and equipment inspections.
  • Attend required HSE training including Hazardous Waste Management, emergency response, and Hazard Communication, and demonstrate an acceptable level of understanding of topics.
  • Package, mark, and label Hazardous Waste containers.
  • Operate equipment and follow procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, OHSA'S 18001 standards.
  • Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in work area.
  • Communicate with shift leader regarding safety, production, quality, or any other operational issues. Actively participate in shift meetings to assist in work planning and continuous improvement.
  • Train other chemical operators in operations, processes, and procedures as needed to ensure efficiencies, safety, and compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Who are You?
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with at least 2 years of applicable experience; chemical manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Must be able to work 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
  • Experience with manufacturing specialty chemicals using batch processes.
  • Experience working in a clean-room environment will be a plus.
  • Forklift certification and Hazardous Waste Operations certification preferable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; convey technical information effectively and concisely to engineering, sales, technicians, etc.
