Job summary

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, a business segment of Element Solutions, is seeking a production operator to manufacture chemical batches in compliance with SOPs and local/state/federal regulations. You will operate reactors, tanks, pumps, and pH meters, follow sequential processes, and maintain accurate batch records.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years in batch production or chemical manufacturing; forklift and hazardous waste certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of batch production or chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with sulfide or cyanide gold processes or other precious metals products is a plus.
  • Experience in a clean-room environment is preferred.
  • Forklift certification and Hazardous Waste Operations certification are desirable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production equipment to manufacture chemical batches per SOPs and regulations.
  • Operate reactors, tanks, pumps, mixers, pH meters, level meters, flow meters, valves, hoses.
  • Weigh, measure, and check raw materials and finished products for correct ingredients and inventory.
  • Perform packaging, labeling, and boxing in accordance with SOPs.
  • Maintain logs and equipment inspections; assist in shift planning and continuous improvement.

Who are we looking for?

A person in this position is responsible for operating production equipment to manufacture chemical batches in compliance with company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and all local state and federal regulations regarding safety, health, and the environment.

What will you be doing?
  • Work from written procedures to process, purify, and chemically fabricate products and their compounds through a sequence of batch operations.
  • Operate equipment, including reactors, tanks, pumps, mixers, pH meters, level meters, flow meters, valves, and hoses used in the manufacture of said products.
  • Handle liquid and solid chemicals using pumps, scales and flow meters.
  • Weigh, measure and check raw materials and finished product to ensure that batches manufactured contain proper ingredients and quantities and that accurate inventory is maintained.
  • Perform product weighing, packaging, labeling, and boxing operations in accordance with SOP's.
  • Locate materials in the warehouse and transport to manufacturing areas using a forklift as needed
  • Collect process samples and interface with laboratory personnel for analysis.
  • Maintain required log sheets including but not limited to batch tickets, packaging sheets, scrubber operation log, pH meter calibration, and equipment inspections.
  • Package, mark, and label Hazardous Waste containers.
  • Operate equipment and follow procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, OHSA'S 18001 standards.
  • Communicate with shift leader regarding safety, production, quality, or any other operational issues. Actively participate in shift meetings to assist in work planning and continuous improvement.
  • Train other chemical operators in operations, processes, and procedures as needed to ensure efficiencies, safety, and compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Who are You?
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years of applicable experience making batchs, working and blending chemicals. Chemical manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Experience with sulfide or cyanide gold reaction processes or other precious metals products.
  • Experience working in a clean-room environment
  • Forklift certification and Hazardous Waste Operations certification preferable
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; convey technical information effectively and concisely to engineering, sales, technicians, etc.
