Job summary

EMD Electronics in Tamaqua, PA is seeking a Chemical Plant Operator to operate processing equipment and monitor data to control the chemical process. This is a continuous rotating 12-hour shift with 2 weeks on days and 2 weeks on nights.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED; an Associate Degree in Chemical Technology, Chemistry or related life science is preferred. Safety, quality, and teamwork are essential as you maintain logs and optimize operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in chemical technology, chemistry or life sciences preferred.
• Knowledge of chemical processing techniques and safety practices.
• Experience with DCS and PLC systems and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate chemical processing equipment and monitor performance data.
• Maintain logs and operating records; evaluate data and take corrective action.
• Handle raw materials, inspections, and container filling as required.
• Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping of plant equipment.
• Communicate with site coworkers and improve process knowledge through CBT.
