Job summary

Saft seeks a Process Engineer in Maryland to develop and implement process strategies, optimize production, and maintain process documents. You will lead process design, troubleshoot equipment, and drive cost reductions while applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Chemical or Material Engineering, sharp analytical skills, effective communication, and a US citizen or green card holder status. A strong focus on safety and quality is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Material Engineering
• Background utilizing Six Sigma Methodologies (root cause analysis/problem solving)
• Must communicate clearly and effectively
• Strong organizational skills
• CAD experience but not exclusively in a design role
• Experience in lean from the mechanical side and tooling design to improve process efficiency
• Technical writing and document control
• Background in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Must be a US citizen or green card holder

Responsibilities

• Meet with production managers to assess existing processes.
• Draft process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates.
• Perform risk assessments and optimization tests.
• Design and test process upgrades and new process systems.
• Ensure processes comply with safety and quality standards.
• Perform process simulations and troubleshoot issues.
• Develop routines and best practices to ensure product quality.
• Develop standardized operating instructions for upgrades process.
