Job summary

Saft is seeking a skilled Process Engineer to support electrode fabrication and scale-up from pilot to production. You will drive process development, implement lean improvements, and collaborate across R&D and production teams to optimize slurry mixing, rheology, and coating processes.

The role requires strong mechanical understanding, CAD experience, and a track record of continuous improvement in chemical/manufacturing settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
• 3–5 years of related experience.
• Six Sigma methodologies and problem solving.
• Clear and effective communication.
• Strong organizational skills.
• CAD experience.
• Floor support and equipment troubleshooting.
• Lean knowledge (mechanical side) for tooling design to improve process efficiency.
• Self-starting, goal-oriented, project-driven.
• Experience with slurry mixing, rheology, and characterization.

Responsibilities

• Work with the production team to meet customer delivery schedules.
• Assist with scaling up formulations from pilot to production levels.
• Optimize unit operations with DOE and other techniques.
• Assist installation, development, and modification of production scale equipment.
• Collaborate with R&D on new formulations and materials.
• Work with new suppliers and manufacturers to introduce new techniques and equipment.
• Track and complete program tasks for development & manufacturing of electrode for international customers.
• Hands-on observations of in-process quality and impact on downstream operations.
• Incorporate feedback from assembly technicians.
• Support aerospace, defense and racing customers.
• Coordinate with Production team and Program Managers in a fast-paced environment.
• Act as liaison with Saft sites worldwide.
• Utilize skills in scrap reduction, technical writing, problem solving, and continuous improvement.
• Prepare work instructions with operators and technicians.
