Job summary

Indium Corporation is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to lead continuous process improvements and troubleshoot chemical and physical processes at Clinton NY operations. You will analyze procedures, perform experiments, and report results to drive cost, quality, and efficiency improvements across manufacturing steps.

Responsibilities include developing optimized processes, applying SPC and lean methods, guiding cross‑functional teams, and documenting design, procedures, and work instructions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or metallurgical engineering is required.
• Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Electrical and mechanical hands‑on experience is required.
• Ability to work independently with verbal or written instructions.
• Ability to perform under pressure.
• Ability to develop an understanding of Indium Corporation products and services.
• Provide own source of transportation for any local/day travel, including travel between Indium Corporation facilities, as needed

Responsibilities

• Apply fundamental engineering concepts to assigned projects.
• Develop and implement optimized, cost-effective manufacturing processes
• Follow disciplined product/process development methods
• Provide hands‑on technical support and training for processes
• Improve processes to drive cost reductions and quality improvements
• Document engineering designs, procedures, and work instructions
• Evaluate and analyze process data
• Lead cross‑functional teams through process improvements
• Lead projects and report status, issues, and risks
• Oversee purchasing and installation of process equipment
• Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with health and safety protocols
• Contribute to project cost estimates, timelines, and milestones
• Collaborate effectively with peers and stakeholders
• Work independently on multiple tasks and projects
• Perform other duties as assigned
