Jobot is seeking a hands-on Chemical Process Engineer to lead process improvements, equipment startups, and capital projects in an industrial manufacturing environment in Akron, OH. You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to move projects from development through installation, commissioning, and stable production.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, has experience managing projects end-to-end, and is proficient in Lean/5S and CAD tools.

• Experience managing engineering projects from concept through implementation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

• Manage engineering projects, including scope, budgets, schedules, equipment selection, installation, and startup.
• Support pilot testing, process scale-up, and commissioning of new equipment and production processes.
• Troubleshoot process issues and improve throughput, quality, yield, reliability, and operating costs.
• Develop operating procedures, startup plans, and technical documentation.
• Improve plant layout, material flow, and workplace organization through Lean and 5S practices.
• Partner with safety and environmental teams on process risk assessments, Management of Change, and regulatory compliance.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, or industrial operations.
• Experience with pilot operations, process scale-up, equipment startup, or commissioning.
• Familiarity with P&IDs, process flow diagrams, equipment specifications, and process controls.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and root cause analysis.
• Working knowledge of applicable safety, environmental, and engineering standards.
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
