Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Project Engineer in Geismar, Louisiana to support small capital projects within a chemical or Petrochemical plant environment. You will focus on maintenance replacement projects, delivering them safely and efficiently while complying with EH&S and codes.

The role involves managing multiple assignments with project values from $100K to $5MM, coordinating between engineering and operations, and leveraging in-house and external design support to ensure successful execution.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified engineer (Civil preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of project engineering experience.
• Experience in a chemical/petrochemical plant environment.
• Strong project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison with operations to support project development and delivery.
• Develop and manage scopes, schedules, and cost estimates for small capital projects.
• Control project costs and optimize capital, operating, and engineering expenditure.
• Ensure all work complies with client, regulatory, environmental, health, safety, legal, and code requirements.
• Define and coordinate work of engineering disciplines (in-house and contract).
• Review and approve technical drawings and vendor submittals (flowsheets, isometrics, layouts).
• Prepare procedures, specifications, and bid packages to support project execution.
• Specify, requisition, and expedite materials and equipment.
• Coordinate construction activities and turnover to operations.
• Communicate design and technical matters through reports and design documents.
• Support, direct, and review lower-level technical staff as required.
• Recommend actions to improve engineering quality and use of new methods.
