Job summary

A leading chemical manufacturer located in Geismar, Louisiana, is seeking an experienced engineer to oversee projects from design through execution. The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering, and at least 5 years of engineering design experience in chemical or petrochemical environments. Responsibilities include developing project plans, ensuring compliance with safety and engineering standards, and coordinating with various teams to enhance operational efficiency. The position may also require occasional travel and adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of engineering design experience and/or chemical or petrochemical plant experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop general project plans and budget estimates.
• Provide detailed designs conforming to regulations and specifications.
• Coordinate activities with consulting firms if necessary.
• Initiate procurement of materials and manage the project timeline.
• Inspect equipment for quality and conformity to specifications.
• Direct draftsmen and check engineering drawings.
• Prepare engineering contracts for external work.
• Inspect field installation and ensure quality.
• Collect engineering data and communicate with Maintenance and Production.
