Job summary

LANXESS is seeking a production operator for our Charleston, SC plant. The role operates chemical processing equipment, conducts DCS control, maintains batch paperwork, ensures housekeeping, and follows safety protocols to support reliable production.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma, basic mechanical aptitude, and a team-oriented mindset. Training is provided; overtime and a compressed workweek are available to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required; Associate's degree a plus.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Safety conscious and team oriented.
• Demonstrated initiative; clean shaven and respirator capable.

Responsibilities

• Operate production chemical processing equipment (reactors, pumps, valves, instruments).
• Conduct DCS operation to control equipment.
• Maintain batch and shift paperwork.
• Keep a clean, organized workplace per procedures.
• Prepare maintenance work orders and prep equipment.
• Report process upsets, spills, injuries, or security events.
• Safely operate fork trucks and yard tractor with tank trailers.
• Assist engineers and technicians to meet plant goals.
