Job summary

Dow Inc. in Orange, Texas, USA, has an exciting opportunity for an Operator within Sabine River Operations. You will work with the shift team to operate plant areas safely, reliably and efficiently, resolving unplanned events and escalating when needed.

You will monitor process equipment, respond to incidents, participate in emergency training, and mentor newer staff while pursuing ongoing training and skills development. This role requires a 12‑hour shift and eligibility to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED and one or both of the following.
• 2 or more years of experience in an Operations role within a Chemical Manufacturing environment.
• In lieu of a degree Dow will consider those with 3 or more years of relevant military experience.
• Must have valid US Drivers License.
• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Follow Operating Discipline policies, principles, procedures, standards and practices to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of assigned plant areas
• Operate process equipment by monitoring process conditions, key performance metrics, field equipment and control systems
• Serve on site Emergency Response Team (ERT) and attend all required training
• Conduct effective shift relief, as defined in facility specific operating discipline and tools, to ensure effective communication and handoff
• Use process knowledge to improve plant performance and operating discipline
• Maintain qualifications in assigned areas and complete training goals in a timely manner
• Mentor and train new and existing operations personnel on process operation and troubleshooting
• Perform scheduled operational tasks and unscheduled tasks arising from events
• Perform Immediate Response/Severe Weather Response activities, as assigned
