Job summary

Johnson Matthey in the United States is seeking a Chemical Operator to join our team. You will work with advanced metals chemistry to process, refine and fabricate precious metals and chemical products, following safe procedures and maintaining quality.

You will monitor multiple process steps, perform routine testing, record production data and ensure traceability. We value teamwork, attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to apply scientific or technical knowledge in manufacturing.
  • Strong attention to detail with issue resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Process, refine and fabricate precious metals and chemical products.
  • Follow written and verbal operating procedures to complete tasks safely and accurately.
  • Monitor and control multiple process operations ensuring product quality.
  • Perform routine testing and checks to support process control.
  • Maintain production records and ensure traceability of materials.
  • Support housekeeping, waste handling and continuous improvement activities.

The role:
  • Processing, refining and fabricating precious metals and chemical products through a range of operational activities
  • Following written and verbal operating procedures to complete production tasks safely and accurately
  • Monitoring and controlling multiple process operations while maintaining product quality and efficiency
  • Performing routine testing and checks to support process control and product specifications
  • Maintaining accurate production records and ensuring full traceability of materials throughout the process
  • Supporting housekeeping, waste handling and continuous improvement activities to maintain a safe, organized workplace
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Ability to apply scientific or technical knowledge in a manufacturing or processing environment
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve operational issues
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining quality standards
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working collaboratively within a team environment and using Microsoft Office applications
