Job summary

Johnson Matthey in Devon, PA is seeking a Production Operator to complete a production process per SOPs, working safely and to high quality. You will load/unload, inspect, pack, move materials, and record production statistics while supporting team goals.

You’ll adhere to safety standards, identify improvement opportunities, follow standard work, and assist in training other operators. Basic computer skills and a HS diploma are required; willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift is needed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic to intermediate computer usage is desirable.
• Willingness to work 2nd and 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety standards at all times and identifies safety improvements.
• Carries out standard operations to a high-quality standard (loading/unloading, inspecting, packing).
• Loads, unloads, inspects, and records production statistics; moves materials and assists in process operations.
• Escalates issues for timely resolution and supports continuous improvement and 5S.

The role of a Production Operator is to complete a production process operation according to standard operating procedures. Responsible for operating in a safe, productive and high‑quality manner. These duties may include loading / unloading, inspection, packing, material movement, recording production statistics, operating or monitoring equipment operation and/or processes. Additionally, they are expected to actively participate in problem solving activities to help the team meet its goals.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety standards at all times
• Identifies opportunities to improve safety
• Carrying out standard operations effectively in a safe manner to a high‑quality standard (e.g., loading / unloading, inspecting and packing)
• Checks quality of work according to JM and customer specifications
• Accountable for following standard processes to complete tasks
• Escalates issues to ensure a timely resolution
• Identifies and escalates opportunities for improvement
• Supports CAPS implementation, using lean tools such as problem solving and 5S
• Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and implementation of best‑practice principles
• Supports training of other operators

Professional Requirements

• H.S Diploma or Equivalent – Required
• Works in accordance with procedures and rules
• Basic to intermediate knowledge in computer usage – desirable
• Must be open to 2nd Shift and 3rd Shift
